Of course if it were not possible his words would not be Inspired by the Holy Spirit, but they are inspired and the fact is, the true context is that Paul is warning genuine Christians not to nullify the effect of Christ in their lives by seeking to justify themselves by the law. If you note that in verse 1 of chapter 5 of Galatians Paul is warning the saints not to be enslaved again to the Yoke of Bondage.
